WinChile is a packing-list app that builds trip checklists from the weather, the length of your trip and the activities you plan. This policy describes what WinChile does and does not do with your data. The short version: WinChile does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

1Information we collect

None. WinChile has no sign-up, account or login, and it never asks for your email address, phone number, location or any other identifier. Everything you type into the app — trip names, destinations, items and notes — stays inside the app on your device.

2Data stored on your device

To make the app work, WinChile stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:

Trips you plan: the trip name and destination you type, start date, number of nights, the climate and rain options you pick, trip type, activities, how many adults and children are travelling, and whether laundry is available.
Packing lists: your bags with their labels and weight limits, and every item with its quantity, packed and essential flags, estimated weight and any note you add.
Leave-home checks for each trip and whether you have ticked them off.
Trip reviews: items you marked as forgotten or unused, so later lists can add or skip them.
Templates you save from your trips.
Your profile: the display name you choose (it starts as “Traveller”) and the avatar you pick.
App settings such as weight units, grouping by bag, hiding packed items and your carry-on limit, plus whether you have finished the walkthrough.
The badges you have unlocked and when you unlocked them.

This data is never sent to the developer of WinChile or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.

3Permissions

WinChile does not request any runtime permissions. It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, calendar or any files outside its own private storage, and it does not request internet access.

4Network use

WinChile works entirely offline and makes no network requests. The weather on a trip is something you choose in the trip planner, not something the app looks up online, so nothing you enter is transmitted anywhere.

5Third-party services

No third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, tracking or payment services are integrated. The app is built with open-source libraries (Flutter, the Isar on-device database and interface and chart components) that run only on your device and send no data anywhere.

6Children's privacy

WinChile is a general-audience travel utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone and has no network access, it does not collect data from children, consistent with COPPA and the GDPR provisions on children’s data.

7Your rights

Your data lives on your own device, so you stay in full control of it. You can edit or delete trips, items, templates and your profile inside the app at any time, and clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling WinChile deletes everything permanently. If you have turned on Android device backup, the operating system may also keep a copy in your personal Google account backup, which you can manage or delete from your Google account settings. The developer never receives your data, so there is nothing held on a server to access, export or delete — but you are welcome to contact us with any privacy question.

8Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
